PUPILS at Wallace High School Preparatory Department brought the era of the flappers back to life recently when they staged their annual musical extravaganza - the comedy "The Boyfriend".

Crowds packed the grammar school assembly hall on both nights, as the boys and girls from Primary Six and Primary Seven displayed their artistic talents in dialogue, dancing and song.

The audience were joined by the Mayor and Mayoress, as well as other invited guests, parents and supporters of the Preparatory Department.

There were also many past pupils who had performed in various productions in their P6/7 year.

The main cast were superbly supported by the rest of P7 and by P6 as they "Charlestoned" their way through both evenings.

Mrs June Wilson has always managed to bring out the very best in all of the pupils and this year was no exception. As producer and director, supported by all the staff in the Preparatory Department, all

the children were on stage or assisting with the props backstage. Mr Ashley Fulton and Mr Jeff Smyth provided the musical accompaniment, and Mr David

Lamont, with his team, provided the sound and lighting. Stranmillis student Ruth Kearney, along with the Preparatory Department staff, designed and painted the set.
