THE Harry Ferguson Celebration Committee will stage their annual Ferguson tractor event at Growell outside Hillsborough on Saturday August 21.

This will be the committee's second year raising money for charity. Last year proceeds went to the local group of Cancer Research and this year the charity chosen is MS Society Northern Ireland.

To raise this money the Celebration Committee will present a long line of Ferguson history in the form of tractors exhibiting just about every model of Ferguson tractor in grey and red.

Other activities on the day will include toy tractors, remote control and ride on tractor and trailers, face painting, tractor parts stalls, catering stalls, toys/models, Soda bread made on the spot, tractor colouring in competitions, live music all day and much more all in aid of this worthy cause.

MS Society staff will be helping throughout the day and will keep all visitors informed about how we can help those who suffer from MS live a better life.

A spokesperson for the Harry Ferguson Celebration Committee said: The committee have been well supported by many businesses, groups and associations including Alan Milne Massey Ferguson tractor dealership Carryduff. We could not do any of this without the help and support of the Poots family who live in the Ferguson Homestead and very kindly allow us to use the land for this long running exhibition, a perfect place for a Ferguson show.

Another feature at the show will be an opportunity to have your Ferguson tractor placed beside the bronze statue and will be available throughout the day at certain times when club officials are available, this facility has been requested many times and there will be a small fee towards MS, you will supply your own photographer and we supply the unique setting," he continued.

"Please come along and witness a field full of Ferguson machinery and visit the popular Ferguson memorial garden which is looking so much better as flowers and greenery compliment the bronze statue of the man himself Harry Ferguson."

There will be a tractor road run on Friday August 20 leaving Ballykeel Baptist Church car park at 7.30pm which will drive past the memorial garden for a few miles before returning to the car park where food and refreshments will be available. On Saturday the event will take place at the Long Field starting at loam and will run until 5pm.
