Lisburn born musician Duke Special a.k.a Peter Wilson is taking the music world by storm and is now amongst the Northern Irish rock royalty. He will perform at the Ulster Hall later this month.

What do you like doing on your day off?
Reading and seeing my family. The time off I have is precious.

If you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be?
French cooking. I was in France recently and really enjoyed a meal I had in one of the restaurants I visited. I am a vegetarian and the food was lovely - lots of small dishes and you tick the boxes beside the food you want on the menu.

What has been your proudest moment?
On a personal level, seeing my three sons being born on and musically, seeing my album in a random shop.

What was the most frightening moment of your life?
When I was in a helicopter for the first time I thought I was going to die.

How would you describe your taste in clothes?
Somewhere between second-hand formal and Camden Market . I like to get a bargain.

What would you do if you won a million pounds?
Put it in the bank and get a return on the money.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
Two years ago I was at a festival and spent the day in a free bar. That night I got up on stage with the band that was playing and they didn't know who I was. The next day when I went for breakfast in the guest house the same band was there. I was hoping they wouldn't remember me but they did.

What music do you like?
I like a mixture. At the moment I think the band Beiruit from the States is good. I also like Balkan Eastern European music.

What sports person do you most admire?
I think jockeys are admirable. They have to be so strict about their weight.

Describe your best ever holiday.
When I was growing up I enjoyed going to Tollymore with my family. I would like to go somewhere foreign with lots of cool things for my kids to see and where my wife and I could relax.

What is your greatest remaining ambition?
I would like to to do a road trip in America and master another language. I am learning French at the moment.

If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would you choose?
Charlie Chaplin.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you want with you?
Boat, bucket and spade and mobile phone.
