Danielle McCormick

Danielle McCormick Danielle McCormick, 26, is an up and coming artist. She graduated from the University of Ulster with a degree in Design Visual Communications in Jul 2008 and works in the Yellow Door in Lisburn. She also works as a freelance illustrator/designer and painter in her spare time.

What do you like doing on your day off?
My day off every week consists of me volunteering in the art department of St. Louises Comprehensive College in Belfast, as a classroom assistant. Usually meeting a friend for lunch, doing a bit of shopping, going for a long walk, catching up on my freelance work and then out to the cinema.

If you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be, where and why?
My mother's macaroni cheese because its out of this world and is the best comfort food ever.

What has been your proudest moment?
Probably graduating from University.

What was the most frightening moment of your life?
When the shop I worked in was getting robbed.

How would you describe your taste in clothes?
Plain but nice. Nothing too fussy.

What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I'd get myself a studio and become a full time illustrator and painter, buy a house in Paris and of course give some to my family and a few charities.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
My friend were queuing up to get onto a ride at a theme park, but discovered after half an hour of waiting that it was a queue for your photographs from the ride - we were too embarrassed to say we were in the wrong queue, so we just bought two key rings with someone else's photographs.

What was the most frightening moment of your life?

What music do you like?
A mixture of everything really. My favourite artists are Prince, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Jack Johnson, James Morrison, Mary J Blige, Pink and Beyonce.

Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream holiday be?
My best holiday ever was to Paris in the summer, it was beautiful. My dream holiday would consist of a few shopping days in New York then a week somewhere exotic and sunny.

What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To get into the PGCE Art in Coleraine and become an art teacher, and to get some of my children's books which I have written and illustrated, published.

If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would you choose?
Tim Burton, without a doubt. He is a genius, my favourite director and artist.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you want with you?
A pencil, a sketchbook and tic tacs.
