W1TH World Cup fever growing, there could be no better way to get ready for the big event than by spending an evening in the company of two of Northern Ireland's World Cup legends in Gerry Armstrong and Billy Hamilton.
This is exactly what local football fans can do as the two players will be the star attractions for one night only on Friday, June 4 at a special World Cup Legends event taking place at the Lisburn Distillery Social Club at New Grosvenor Stadium in Lisburn.
Gerry Armstrong was awarded the tournament's "Golden Boot" for being the best British player at the 1982 World Cup and who could ever forget that memorable goal he scored in Valencia to defeat the host nation on that amazing night in Northern Ireland's football folklore.
Billy Hamilton also came home a hero from Espana 82. As well as scoring both goals in the memorable draw against
Austria in the second round of group matches, he also played a major part in Armstrong's goal against Spain.
A deadly duo, the two strikers notched up some 124 international appearances between them, scoring some 26 goals along the way and they played a key role in the amazing success that Northern Ireland achieved on the world stage in the 1980s.
The event will also include a light buffet, late bar and an auction of various Northern Ireland memorabilia on the night.
With both players noted for having a great insight into the international game and also for having a great sense of humour, this event promises to be a great night's entertainment for everyone who attends.
