Hazel hands over the reins after successful year at Inner Wheel

THE Inner Wheel Club of Lisburn, with the guidance of President Hazel Mcllroy, has completed another very successful year.

They held various fundraisers which included a Christmas Fayre, Quiz night and afternoon tea as well as all their social nights out to the theatre, dinners etc.

They were able to donate £2000 to Leukaemia N.I and over £600 to a Children's Congenital Heart Disease Charity and have bought two Shelter Boxes to send abroad to be used in the aftermath of disasters and emergencies.

They also donated fuel stamps and Christmas gifts to elderly people in Lisburn.

The Club had an extra incentive this year as District Chairman Norman Coggins is a member of the Lisburn club.

Although a relatively new memner of the Inner Wheel Club of Lisburn, Shirley is delighted to take on the top post for the coming year.

Shirley married her husband Martin in 1963. She has led a very busy life having worked for Northern Ireland Electricity for 39 and half years. During her career with NIE she has worked in Ballynahinch, Newcastle, Newry, Belfast and Lisburn where she was showroom manager for nearly 20 years until her retirement.

Shirley enjoys gardening, cooking, travelling abroad and entertaining. She is an active choir member is her local Parish Church.

Shirley is looking forward to her term as President knowing the friendship and support that exists with the Club.
