ACTION MS, Northern Ireland's multiple sclerosis charity, this Christmas thanked B&Q Sprucefield for their support after collections at the two stores raised a heart-warming total of £1,051.48 in aid of the charity.
Action MS Chief Executive Ann Walker MBE thanked the Sprucefield staff for their wonderful support. Mrs Walker said: "I have been overwhelmed by the level of generosity and great courtesy shown to Action MS staff and volunteers, by the customers and staff at B&Q Sprucefield. All money raised will stay here in Northern Ireland to support local people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and carers."
B&Q Sprucefield manager Ian Moore presented the cheque. Ian said "We are delighted to present this cheque for £1,051.48 to Action MS. I would like to say a big thank you to all of our customers, who gave so generously, to support this hard-working local charity."
Northern Ireland has the second highest incidence of MS per head of population in the world. The cause of MS remains unknown and as yet there is no cure but most symptoms can be treated. Action MS, Northern Ireland's multiple sclerosis charity supports people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and carers.
Action MS is a caring and user-led organisation providing a range of support services, including legal advice, advocacy, befriending, support for young people with MS, support for children who have a parent with MS, reflexology, a holiday home in Portstewart, information and advice.
