Pupils from Fort Hill College who were presented with awards
for their
fundraising efforts
ACTION MS Chief Executive Ann Walker thanked Fort Hill College for their support at a special Awards Presentation on Thursday December 2 following their tremendous efforts on a recent Walk for MS.
Some 368 pupils joined the Walk for MS team at Hillsborough Forest Park on October 22. Altogether the pupils raised a fantastic total of £9,146.60 in aid of Action MS, Northern Ireland's multiple sclerosis charity.
Fort Hill College is a great supporter of multiple sclerosis and the Walk for MS Bronze Boot Winners 2009, awarded to the top fundraising school. Pupils from the school received their award at the Walk for MS Thank You Luncheon held at the Ramada Hotel, Belfast earlier this year.
In thanking the pupils Mrs. Walker said: "Thanks to the generosity and support of schools like Fort Hill College the Walks for MS celebrate 30 years of walking this year. Action MS supports people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and carers in Northern Ireland. In Lisburn, local people are invited along to the NewB's group, which meets every month for social events and get-togethers." Action MS invites anyone who is living with MS, their families or carers to contact Jayne Smyth, Executive Director, who would be delighted to help, call 9079 0707 or visit the Action MS website www.actionms.co.uk for more information.
