FOREWORD

It is my pleasure once more to write a Foreword for another Journal of the Dromore and District Local Historical Group. Someone once said there seemed to be a song about every stone on every road in Ireland. Almost the same could be said of Dromore, there seems to be a story underneath every stone in Dromore. We have a rich history and Volume 4 contains articles and photographs that contain valuable information and facts about our heritage.

There are a number of people who deserve our thanks. Firstly, all our contributors who have spent time in research and in writing without you this Journal would not have appeared. Secondly, we are indebted to our advertisers and sponsors whose support and generosity has enabled us to produce this Journal.

Thirdly, to the Committee whose enthusiasm and dedication saw this Journal through to publication. In recent weeks the Editorial Committee has been busy reading through manuscripts and sifting over photographs and a special word of thanks is due to Jim and Alison Hutchinson whose home once again became the office of the Editorial Committee!

Lastly, thanks to you, for buying this Journal, I know you will enjoy reading

HAROLD GIBSON,
Chairman.
